Survival Gear Archives

Recession and Depression are words that are being bandied about on news and business programmes. Having just been sent the piece below it is essential that as many as possible know what is being said in certain responsible quarters and how it might be possible to survive what is a-coming, and some perceive that it has already started.

For many years we have been warning of a coming economic crash in America, and since 2006 we have been warning specifically of the HOUSING crisis, and the recession and depression that would follow. You will notice that everything we have been predicting is now coming true. In fact, a number of the most respected economists now state that the USA is already in Recession – beginning in December 2007. Sadly it is going to get much much worse.

I remember one place that I preached in 2006, predicting that there would be a housing crash followed by an economic depression. There was a man smirking and laughing down the back of the room. I guess that smirk may be missing now.

I want to get into “How to Survive” the coming Depression in a moment, but firstly I need to paint a picture of some of what is ahead. My strong belief is that, particularly in America, this crisis is going to be WORSE than the GREAT DEPRESSION.

And it is going to last for YEARS.

Other developed nations such as England, Ireland, Spain, Canada, Germany and even Australasia – are going to be very hard-hit also. China, India and much of Asia will be pounded at first, but I believe will recover faster. All of this is already underway.

How bad is it going to get? I believe that Christians in America need to face the fact that they are about to live through one of the WORST 5 – 7 year periods that this country has ever seen, and they need to be preparing NOW. We have not even seen the beginning of the worst of this crisis yet.

I know that there are people on this List who have heavy mortgages, who did not listen to me months ago when I started warning about the Housing crisis. Sadly some of these people are already staring down the barrel of losing everything they own.

In fact, millions of American Christians are about to become utterly destitute. A lot of “innocent” and not-so-innocent people are going to get caught out by this, and many ministries that rely on “big money” are going to get crushed.

At the end of the day, this entire thing is a judgment on the great idol of Mammon in this country. God is going to bring that idol down. He is going to smash it to pieces, and separate His true gospel from that of the Mammonites in the church. And woe unto those who get caught under that avalanche when it falls.

Sadly, many poor and underprivileged people in this country are already being affected. We need to have a heart of compassion and be reaching out to these ones as things grow worse.

(By the way, speaking of avalanches, you may remember my warnings about “Derivatives” and the need to watch the “Insurers” of the markets. Already these areas are extremely shaky, and the danger of an “economic tsunami” is high).

HOW to SURVIVE and EVEN THRIVE

There is only one type of Christian that I believe will survive – and maybe even thrive – during the coming Depression – and that is the Christian who is ministering actively to the POOR. It does not matter how much gold or US T-bills you store up. It is only “heavenly treasure” that will do. Do not expect to do well if you only selfishly consider yourself and your own family. Those who are ministering to the poor and needy I believe have a chance to literally THRIVE in this situation, while those who “hoard to themselves” can expect God’s great displeasure. He is simply not going to put up with it any more.

The other thing that will make all the difference is a strong linking of arms with several others of LIKE MIND. This too is very important. If you are part of a home group, then this may be fairly easy to do.

Talk to them about it. Come together in a strong bond of unity between, say, 4 families or individuals. But watch carefully how you choose. These relationships need to be able to survive a prolonged crisis. You may end up LIVING with these people. And they need to be a good fit ministry-wise also.

These two things – (1) Linking arms with a small close-knit group of Christian believers, and (2) Ministering actively amongst the poor and needy – these two things will make all the difference. And we need to start doing this NOW. Don’t wait until the crisis suddenly worsens. That may be too late. Start a “free meal” in your town. Do something! The hour is late.

I believe this is an opportunity for the true Church to come forth and display the Glory of Jesus in this nation – like a beacon set upon a hill. This crisis could be the Church’s finest hour – if only we will heed His call. Let the true Church be the one to shine – not the Red Cross, not FEMA. May God’s true remnant come forth in this hour to display His compassion and glory to all the earth. It could be the making of the American church – it really could.

Everything I am telling you in this email is so critical, I literally do not know how to stress it enough – it is that vital. There are going to be people who ignore what I am saying here who will literally regret it for the rest of their lives. No joke. You can mark it down.

Some ignored my warnings about the Housing market to their great cost. Others are going to ignore the two things that I am stressing most strongly here – (1) Banding together in small close-knit groups, and (2) Ministering to the poor. And it is going to cost them almost everything.

But this is all I can do – cry aloud and hope that some will listen.

Please pass this on to other Christians who hope to survive the coming crisis, my friends.

As I first read the piece above I thought that if this is even partially true we are in for a serious time. Already in 2008 there have been astonishing financial decisions taken with regard to the Economy in America. It is a warning and it is always wise to give heed to such possibly prophetic warnings.

What Haiti Showed Us

What happened in Haiti was a horrible event, but lessons can be learned from it. It’s highly unlikely that we will experience any kind of devastation in the States like they did. We can, and will someday, experience emergencies on a large scale.

The key is to be prepared as much as possible for as many different events we can think of. This applies not only applies to eathquakes, but also Hurricanes, fires, pandemics, tornadoes, etc.

[recreading items=1]

Disaster Preparedness? I Want to Be Ready

I keep hearing everyone  talking about the flu pandemic, 2012, and the possibility of war (Iran, al queada, North Korea). There seems to be anxiety everywhere. Being born and raised in a Hurricane zone, I’m always a little prepared for some disasters with the supplies I stock up on for Hurricane season, but looking at what else could be coming at me, I want to prepare a little more. I’m not buying in to the 2012 scare, but I am worried about the flu and the nuts in the middle east with ambitions to wipe us off of the face of the earth. Another problem we are facing is the dismal economy, with times the way they are, who can afford to prepare for the worst and stock up on survival gear, emergency food and water? I know things are bad, but we should be asking who can’t afford to be prepared for flu, nuclear war, or just civil unrest?

I’ve started buying a case of bottled water every other week when I grocery shop. I’m searching for 2 for 1′s on canned vegetables and fruits. I’m searching the Internet for coupons for the necessities. My problem now has become, how much should I stock up? It’s just two of us right now, but I have family close by that I know will need help, too. If I count my family, then I will not have enough room, or money to stock up on everything. So my new goal is to convince my friends and family to stock up, too. I put it this way, if you stock up and need it, you’ll be glad you did. If you stock up and don’t need it, or some perishable items start to lose their shelf life, then you have a lot of canned goods to donate or make casseroles with. I hope they’re listening.

Doomsday Shelter – Or Survive In Place?

Doomsday shelters are in vogue again. It hasn’t been like this since the cold war, bomb shelters in back yards, freeze dried food flying off shelves, people wanting to feel secure. Why not? Even if you don’t believe in 2012, or civil and economic collapse, it’s always a good idea to be ready for ANYTHING!  How can you prepare for “anything”? You can’t. You can make some basic decisions and take some safeguards that will help you and your family survive a lot of different scenarios, but not everything.

While doomsday shelters can guard against a lot of emergencies, they can’t guard against them all. If an asteroid the size of Rhode Island hit the central United States tomorrow, there isn’t a bomb shelter made that would save you and your family. The best you can do is stock up, plan, and pray. You could spend the equivalent of a new home for what it costs for a bomb shelter. If you have that kind of money, go for it.

If you are like the average Joe, and you just want to do what you can, with what you have, then concentrate on just a few important points. First, spend what you can on water purification - be it filters, tablets, storage, or wells (all of the above if you can). Second,  stock up on non-perishable foods. Keep in mind how many family members you are planning for. Third, fortify any space you can, a basement, shed, or, in extreme cases,  a fortified hole in your yard with basic roof coverage. Please, DO NOT just dig a hole in your yard, it will kill you. Only dig a hole if you know danger is imminent, then make sure you fortify the walls, every step you dig. (Please, I cannot caution you enough on how dangerous this can be).

In the end, planning to survive in place, is the most economical, and most encompassing method of preperation. Think about it this way, if you spend thousands on a doomsday shelter, food, and water only to experience a catastrophe that no one normally could survive, are you sure you want to be around afterwards? A slower, more painful end may be the ultimate result.

How To Survive A Cheating Spouse

In this article we will talk about how to survive a cheating spouse, and also, how to come to terms when it comes to dealing with a cheating spouse.

First of all, depending on how long you have been together, you will want to have a long hard think alone whether you want to stay in the relationship. I guess this applies to both people in the relationship.

Cheating can be a heart wrenching experience, and dealing with a cheating spouse first has to come after the decision as to whether or not you want to stay together as a couple.

If you do decide to stay together and want to try and survive a cheating spouse, then it is going to be a long hard time for you both. Building back trust is a long, slow process, but some couples have proved that it can be done.

Personally, I don’t agree or believe with going behind you partners back. It would be much better to always try and communicate problems in the relationship before doing something you may regret for the rest of your life.

However, sometimes in life, people do cheat on their spouse, and it can destroy people’s lives when they do. Some people may choose not to forgive their partners betrayal, and this is a choice anyone is free to make, however, if the relationship has lasted a long time, there may be other complications to think about when dealing with a cheating spouse, such as children, other family members, and even the fact of do you really want to start again with someone new, when you have built up everything together, through the good and the bad.

As you can see from the above, there are many things to think about.

So if one chooses to go alone and go their separate ways after the affair, how can one truly survive a cheating spouse?

To be honest, some people may not survive a cheating spouse, depending on the length of the relationship; it may indeed destroy part of a person’s soul and heart.

For this kind of situation, we would be lying if we could offer you any advice that may help you, simply because of the time and love you have shared with that person. The only thing we would say is that in life, you have to move forward. If you surrender to life, and it happens to many people across the world, you could well become dead alive. What we mean by this is that you could just give up and become so depressed and in denial, that you could give up on life, and slowly to start to rot away until you no longer want to be apart of this life. This is sad, and we hate to sound negative, but it can be the case for some people.

Here are some guidelines for dealing with a cheating spouse that we recommend anyone read if they are currently dealing with a cheating spouse:

1) In life, we must move forward, no matter what happens, slowly moving forward is the only way you eventually move on

2) If you do become a victim to an unfaithful partner and you choose not to stay, then we suggest you find out what your dreams are, and start a path to slowly follow them, everything else may fit in with this. Again, it may not because some people will not ever get over there past, no matter what they believe. Emotional turmoil is the biggest and hardest obstacle to overcome in life.

3) Be active, dont lie around and think, time makes things easier, in time we heal, and with time, we may even forgive. Remember, life is hard, mean place, it isn’t easy, and dealing with a cheating spouse is part of the many aspects of life.

4) Finally, we believe if that one truly loves one, they will not cheat, and do whatever they can to solve issues in the relationship. If one does cheat, did they truly have the commitment that love should bring? Giving up and breaking up is easy, going for the long haul is something that doesn’t happen as much these days. People seem to believe they don’t have to stay with that person, maybe so, but if you choose someone to spend your life with, seeing it through to the end makes you both winners.

What Are Outdoor Survival Kits?

Outdoor survival kits can be purchased as is when they’re pre-made, or they can often also be the result of a do it yourself project. There is no one set right or wrong way to set up or put together the ideal survival kit, but one thing to understand right off the bat is that if someone is trying to charge more for an “outdoor” specialty kit versus a “regular” kit, don’t fall for the rip off. The two are pretty much synonyms.

An outdoor emergency kit is meant to help a person deal with the elements, which are inherently outdoors. The materials in these kits have to take into account what would be needed if you were stuck outside and had to deal with the elements. A flint and steel and a cotton ball for starting fires, water purification tablets to make safe drinking water, and gauze to bandage wounds are just three of the materials that should be included in any such kit.

Anything you can think of that could be helpful in a conventional wilderness survival kit are the same materials that you should find in any high quality outdoor kit. This can include fishing line, medication, knife, fire starters – anything that can possibly be of use when out in any outdoor environment.

Many people prefer to make their own because they can customize the kits based on specific needs, environments, and skills, but there are plenty of already made ones that can work just as well.

And if you would like to learn more about outdoor survival kits, or if maybe you’re just interested in basic survival kits in general, then you will want to take a look at this online blog.

Thanks for Reading.

More important than food and perhaps even more important than fire, water is necessary for survival. Maybe it is obvious, but our bodies are comprised of a lot of it.

You can harvest water in a variety of ways. Unless you live in Michigan (the Great Lakes State) or Minnesota (Land of 10,000 Lakes) or such locales where ponds and lakes are prevalent, free-flowing water may not always be readily available. Standing water can be a bit sketchy, so if you don’t have a kit to test or a way to purify, you need to seek it elsewhere.

Plants are some of the easiest to locate and most reliable sources of clean water. Many of them hold droplets of rain on the leaves and others house plenty of moisture in their stems.

Avoid drinking from storm drains, sewers, and puddles with rainbow sheen. Not all that is wet is water, so use your other senses to help determine whether or not it is in fact water.

If a plant is growing in soil that is near urban areas, the ground water may be contaminated. In this case, the more rustic the venue the better your chances are of finding healthier sources. Of course, this works to your advantage – if you are in a survival situation, you are probably pretty far out in the wild anyway.

Use caution when acquiring water from plants in the wild. If you aren’t sure whether or not a plant is poisonous or not, don’t use it. Remember the unfortunate kid at summer camp that ran through the poison ivy in shorts? Now imagine trying to scratch the back of your throat when it itches!

More often than not, you may be able to trust grapevines, birch tree sap, maple tree sap, and thistles. Some plants look like other plants that you really don’t want to use for water collection. Grapevines have a poisonous look-alike, the Canada Moonseed vine, so be careful.

Instead of pressing your luck by squeezing what may or may not be grapevines, press the wood fibers of birch trees in your fist and point your thumb towards your open mouth.

Remember: water can be acquired from a variety of natural sources, but use your better judgment and never assume.

Tucson Arizona is one of hot spots for Illegal Alien civil unrest and although mostly peaceful it is going to be one of the major spots in an upcoming protest march. This issue recently came up in an online think tank and one member from Tucson state;

“Here in Tucson the High school students are chanting; “Si Se Puede” and waving Che Guevarra flags really have no idea what they are talking about. Every student we’ve talked to is clueless as to what is going on and they make themselves look like a bunch of uneducated delinquent kids who just want to get out of class.”

In Maryland same thing the school has given them extra credit for participating in public demonstrations, totally sick, unbelievable really. Civil Disobedience is one thing, but government (school) sponsored is another thing. I talked with an ESL teacher at a coffee shop there in Tucson and he told me of these issues as well. Also with the Minute Men Vigilante Forces on the Border, a problem in Tucson could easily come to a head and we should not allow the illegal immigration issue to turn into a race issue, but rather keep the issue and the point of the argument between “illegal” immigration and what to do about the problem.

Namely; Biometric ID Cards, streamlined legal immigration system, sponsor programs, work programs and securing the borders. I hope you will all listen to reason on all sides of this issue and consider viable solutions to this Out of Control illegal immigration problem in the United States, Arizona and especially cities like Tucson which are being over run with illegal alien invaders. Consider all this in 2006.

If You Can Laugh at it, You Can Survive It

Bill Cosby has been known to say “If you can laugh at it, you can survive it” With today’s economic down turn many people may need a good laugh to get a break from the stress of the day. Humor is a great way to reduce the unwanted effects of stress.

Many of us feel awkward joking about the losses we have taken on our 401k or other stock investments. It is hard to find anything funny about the number of houses being foreclosed in this country. Many may even consider it inappropriate or insensitive to joke about it. However when we laugh at difficult situations it tends to make them a little easier to deal with. Many cancer patients use humor to deal with there physical situation and feel better.

It has been known scientifically that the best thing you can do is to provide a humorous environment and “forget” about the stressful situation for a while. Sitting around and dwelling on the situation will not help much and will make you feel worse.

One characteristic of the person who does well during tough times is the ability to often put the stressful situation in the background for periods of time. A good laugh is a great way to escape the current situation without the use of drugs or alcohol.

Watch a funny movie or stand up comedy video clip go to a comedy club and you will get a nice escape from your problems. Laughing has physical and mental benefits as well. Studies show that laughter is a effective way to combat stress and improve blood flow. Just as the doctors on Mash used practical jokes to deal with stress we can do the same. Play a practical joke on a friend or co-worker and you will both get a welcome relief from the problems of the day.

There are a number of web sites that offer some good clean practical jokes if you need some ideas. With a little humor and laughter we will survive the current economic situation and prove once again that Cosby was right when he said “If you can laugh at it you can survive it”.

Civil Unrest During Crisis Situations

All survival conscious people should provide due thought towards the probability of civil unrest during those times of impending disasters and emergency situations. It goes without saying that when the law is running thin the lower level trash will attempt to take over the masses. This is a situation where cooperation among neighbors and friends become an extremely important asset. This mutual cooperation will provide at least some sort of resilience from the threat of local terrorist activities or natural disaster opportunists which are sure to be lurking nearby.

To begin with one must fully understand civil emergency management procedures which will involve several proven disaster strategies usable towards stimulating the needed cooperation from required friends and neighbors. Normally one can consider the possibility of only two kinds of risks which will be associated with a disaster. These risks are the risk of war and the risk of peace. Although these are the mere basics under today’s way of life we would encounter a much more comprehensive type of approach to the matter of security for our home base when required. Either way cooperation is still the key word.

We all have to learn to stress the value of and be prepared for the unexpected situations which may crop up when we least expect them. Nothing can be worse then ending up being surprised with something that we had not counted on happening at a time when we least need it to occur. When planning properly we should never be surprised about anything. This is the difference between those that survive and those that do not. An adequate means of proving these early warning signs and the actions needed to resolve them are absolutely necessary at all times and under all situations.

We all need to develop a capacity to build up our knowledge about the various potential problems and create a miniature data base in our minds towards combating these efforts. In our circle of friends we need to build a means of blending our efforts together through knowledge as well as information sharing. We are currently entering an era where there are going to be many surprises that awaits us. Remember the Tsunami in 2004, the events of America’s September 11th, our hurricane Katrina disaster as well as the increased activity associated with earthquakes.

It would not hurt any survivalist or group of survivalists to cultivate a civil protection network from among like minded people who are close by. Sharing their abilities towards civil protection, evaluation of the areas risk assessment and emergency preparedness knowledge could well lead to binding friendships when real friends are badly needed.
